Epipolé Group

Head of the Epipolé Group at University of Caxias do Sul (PPGMAT-UCS) and Board Member of the National Institute of Surface Engineering (INES) both in Brazil with a worldwide networking. Prof. Figueroa is graduated in Chemistry at Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA - Argentina - 2000) and concluded his PhD in Physics at Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP - Brazil- 2004), being scientific trainee within PhD at Australian Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO - Australia - 2003/2004). His interest in science began early, during the technical course in chemistry at the National School of Technical Education No. 1 Ing. Otto Krause in Argentina (1989-1994). The effort during this period yielded the gold gold and bronze medals in the Iberoamerican and International Chemistry Olympiad (1995), respectively. Founder of Plasmar Tecnologia Ltda and Fineza Indústria Criativa Ltda, both spin-off companies, Prof. Figueroa was awarded several times, including the PETROBRAS - Technology (2013), “Gaúcho” Researcher (2011), SIEMENS - Science and Technology (2008) and SANTANDER - Science and Innovation (2007).
