History

In August 2004, the activities started at the Laboratory of Surface Engineering and Thermal Treatments (LESTT) of University of Caxias do Sul (UCS). After many years in the form of an anonymous group and involving other laboratories, in April 2016, this group of people chose the name Epipolé Group, with the purpose of disseminating scientific and technological production to instigate research, development and innovation in the area of surface science and engineering. The group consists of researchers, internal and external contributing teachers, undergraduate students by the Institutional Program of Scientific Scholarships (BIC/UCS, PIBIC/CNPq and PROBIC/ FAPERGS) and graduate students in the Graduate Program in Science and Materials Engineering at University of Caxias do Sul (PPGMAT/UCS).
